Synopsis:

Hanna gives up her big dream of competitive swimming in the GDR and flees across the Baltic Sea with her best friend Andreas, who has been targeted by the state, in the summer of 1989. 50 kilometers separate them from freedom. And only a thin, connecting cord around her wrist saves her from absolute loneliness.
