Synopsis:

SHOWTIME delves into the ambivalent sport of cheerleading: On the one hand, stereotypical gender roles shine brightly in the spotlight - at the same time we experience a dance team that performs independently and exudes sparkling passion for the sport. They want to be recognized as professional hip-hop dancers and strong female role models in modern society. The dancers EMMA, CARO and NADIA laugh off the accusations of engaging in a sexist and outdated sport. The Liberty Dance Team performs during game breaks in the first basketball Bundesliga. SHOWTIME shines the spotlight on a group of women who, despite difficulties, dance with lead feet and smiles.
